'Slow Shutter Cam' Instructions & FAQ

Creating blur or slow shutter effects

In normal lighting conditions, enable the 'Shutter Priority' mode and select a shutter speed. Independently of the shutter speed selected, the exposure will be automatically compensated (i.e. picture exposure will be the same as seen on the live preview). After picture has been taken, exposure can be fine-tuned using the exposure compensation slider from -2EV to +2EV.

Compensating the lack of flash

In low light conditions, enable the 'Shutter Priority' mode and hold iPhone very steady. Ideally, press the side edge of the iPhone against something solid. After picture have been taken, move the exposure compensation slider to the right to lighten your picture. To increase picture quality, select a longer shutter speed.

Grabbing more light

In very low light condition, disable the 'Shutter Priority' mode and select a shutter speed. The longer the shutter speed, the more light the camera will grab. Again, iPhone must be held very steady or picture will be blurred. Due to the nature of the camera sensor, noise would easily build-up when used in dark conditions. To minimize noise, select a longer shutter speed and compensate the exposure by moving the slider to the left after picture have been taken.

FAQ 1 - Why 'Screen shutter' behavior not constant?

The 'Screen shutter' function can only be used to fire the shutter and is otherwise disabled to prevent triggering its action inadvertently while manipulating the iPhone. To stop the self-timer or abort a capture in progress, please use the shutter button.
